In Framing Memories, Kathy Murillo transforms intimate memories into a visual architecture of belonging. Each element from the bathroom soap dish embedded on the surface to the soil evoking mountainous landscapes acts as a bridge between her childhood in Venezuela and her present experience in Guadalajara. The work articulates a dialogue between territories, migration, and memory, where everyday objects become symbols of identity and affection. The assemblage unfolds as an emotional map: lines of color suggest routes, textures preserve stories, and the framed space reveals both the fragility and strength of a nomadic home. Framing Memories invites viewers to traverse layers of time and space, questioning how personal memories can become collective heritage.
